The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama was formed in 1996 to raise money for breast cancer research at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Since its inception, BCRFA has donated over 2 million dollars, which helps the UAB Cancer Center pursue promising new therapies, recruit and retain top scientists from around the world, and provide leverage in the acquisition of federal funding. For every dollar raised by the Foundation, the Cancer Center can compete successfully for $10 in federal funding.
